Shaun and Lauren’s wedding was a hot one but lovely none the less. A lovely 39 degrees, I could feel the heat coming off my camera when I put the view finder to my face but we pulled through and it was a happy and love filled day!
Their wedding was planned beautifully! They chose the cutest cottages to get ready in Balhannah, they were a photographers dream place to get ready! So much character and a abundance of places to shoot, if you are getting married in the Adelaide Hills and looking for a place for you to get ready your photographer will love you forever if you choose any of the cottages at Adelaide Hills Country Cottages 😉 (my favourite would have to be Lavender Fields)
Any ways enough about the cottages and more about the wedding!!
It was such a relaxed morning at both cottages, I think it was my first time witnessing a bridal party playing scrabble while getting ready!? It was a good change though from the usual hustle and bustle on the morning of a wedding. There was no detail unthought of with a beautiful ring box and coat hangers by Indigo Bark and the talented makeup artist Lauren Parkinson to make the girls look even more stunning.
Shaun and Lauren decided on doing a ‘first look’ to take advantage of the picturesque setting of the cottages. It was such a delight witnessing their reactions to seeing each other for the first time all dressed up! Both of their faces just lit up, gives me butterflies just thinking about it 🙂
We then head to the Pulp Shed at Glen Ewin Estate for the ceremony with my favourite celebrant (who also did my wedding a few years ago) Mark Bassett and later on the reception. The reception was full of dancing which included a choreographed first dance which Shaun and Lauren pull off so well, including a lift!
It was such a fun night capturing this special day for Shaun and Lauren. I hope you enjoy a first glimpse at their wedding photos.
