When Liv first contacted me about her and Damien’s New Years Eve wedding plans, I was so excited to possibly shoot this super special day. They had so many great plans and the vibe they were going for was right up my alley. This was also my first ever New Years eve wedding and I couldn’t of thought of a better way to finish off 2020 with this beautiful wedding with some amazing people. It was my first time visiting/doing a wedding at The Lane Vineyard which is nestled in the Adelaide Hills and it was so lovely. Plus if you are a wine lover like me, they have fantastic wines.
How has your experience been with Lucinda May Photography?
Such a breeze! Lucinda made everything so easy and hassle free!
Why would you recommend Lucinda May Photography to friends?
Lucinda is very skilled at what she does, while maintaining a calm and relaxed vibe, nothing is too stressful and she didn’t try and “over pose” us.
What beautiful products did you invest in from Lucinda May Photography and why?
We are looking at the leather photo album at the moment, but will definitely have some prints made.
Can you give any tips for couples on how to prepare for the wedding photos?
Just relax! I was quite uptight and nervous about being photographed but the best photos came once we had loosened up!
How did you two love birds meet?
Damien is my brother’s best mate….. I was the little sister! Haha
Who popped the question and how did it happen? Was it a surprise? Spill…
Such a surprise! Damien and I already had a son and a house together, I didn’t think marriage would be on the cards for us as we were happy how things were. On Christmas Day 2019, with both of our families at our house for lunch, Damien gave me a present wrapped in Christmas wrapping, and inside was a box filled with red rosebuds, and small photos of us with our son, and in the middle was the ring!
How long was your engagement & how long did you have to plan your wedding and did you plan the wedding yourself?
We got engaged Christmas 2019 and our wedding was New Years Eve 2020 at The Lane Vineyard, I planned it all myself – we didn’t want too much fuss.
Were you nervous walking down the aisle?
Not at all! But when I got down the end to Damien he was shaking!!!!
What was your favourite moment(s) from your beautiful wedding day?
I loved the morning getting ready with my bridesmaids and the mums! But standing at the end of the isle was definitely an unbeatable feeling!
How would you describe your overall wedding day experience?
Perfect! It was exactly the relaxed, fun, happy day that we wanted!
What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
Get your main things booked in quickly – venue, photographer, dj etc, the rest will fall into place.
Where did you escape to for your honeymoon? Would you recommend it to other couples?
Unfortunately due to covid we couldn’t have the Gili T island escape that we had originally planned, but we got away to Serafino at Mclaren Vale for a few nights that was just lovely.
