Alicia + Tony | Engaged

Tell me how you two met?
Initially we casually met at a friend’s house but didn’t really speak to each other. My (Alicia) friend suggested I start talking to Tony so I made the brave move and added him on Facebook, to which he initially asked if it was a random add.. before saving himself and claiming to remember me! My friend I then went to a party and we got picked up by Tony and his friend (who was sort of dating my friend at the time), so it just made sense that Tony and I would get together too..
What hooked you in what was the moment you decided they were the one?
Neither of us can put it down to an exact moment, it all just happened over time. Although the time Tony drove to Victoria and back in one day to bring home our first puppy could have been what got him over the line!!
Who proposed? Tell me the story, was it a huge surprise? Tell me everything 🙂
The biggest give away when Tony proposed was that he was the one to organise something for once! He suggested we go to Innes National Park on the March long weekend last year and wouldn’t let me invite any of our friends that we sometimes go over there with.. I thought that was pretty suss but I tried not to think about it so that I wouldn’t jinx anything! Turns out it was exactly what Tony had in mind and he proposed at the gorgeous Browns Beach after we’d stopped at about 3 or 4 other beaches that he decided weren’t the right ones. So I kind of predicted it, but I let him think for a while that I had no idea. He now knows that I was onto him from the start..
Who chose the ring? Was that a surprise? Was the size right – haha?
Tony may or may not have had a few hints sent to him… I mean we had been together for 8 years at this point! He tried really hard to get the right size by using one of my other rings that I wear on my right hand as a guide but the salesperson convinced him that my left hand would be smaller than my right so he went for a smaller size. Sadly I couldn’t even force the ring on so I was wearing it on my pinky for the rest of the weekend.
Why did you want engagement photos? Why is this important to you?
We’re both pretty awkward when it comes to taking photos, and Tony’s eyes are closed in them half the time, so we really wanted to be able to have a practice run before the wedding. We now feel a lot more confident about the big day thanks to Lucinda!
Is there a story surrounding the location you had your photos taken at? Significance? Proposal?
We both just love camping and the outdoors so it made sense to have our photos in a beautiful forest setting.
Do you have any tips for other couples preparing for their engagement session?
The best photos from our session were the ‘candid’ ones where we were just smiling and laughing with each other because we were genuinely having a fun time. So our tip is just to relax and make each other laugh 🙂
