When Alicia and Tony confirmed they wanted me to capture their One Paddock Currency Creek wedding I was super excited. I knew they had an amazing vision for their wedding and had booked some amazing Adelaide wedding supplier. They are a super lovely couple and I really enjoyed my time with them. To hear more about their wedding experience straight from them read on below:
How has your experience been with Lucinda May Photography?
Amazing! I think one of the most important things about finding the right photographer for you, other than the quality of their work, is making sure that they make you feel comfortable and Lucinda did exactly that. Lucinda’s work is also amazing, she has always been really responsive and had a fast turnaround with getting our photos to us despite our wedding being a week before Christmas! Couldn’t have asked for much more.
Why would you recommend Lucinda May Photography to friends?
Besides for her beautiful photos, Lucinda will work with you to identify how you want your day to be captured. She is really prompt with her communication right from your initial enquiry and has a fast turnaround with getting sneak peak photos to you and your whole photo collection too. She is obviously also very friendly and will make you feel so comfortable, even if you’re not a big photo person.
What beautiful products did you invest in from Lucinda May Photography and why?
We ordered our fine art album through Lucinda and it is such a beautiful way to view all of the most special photos from your day and makes it so easy to share with family and friends. The quality is 10/10 and will be a lifelong investment you won’t regret.
Can you give any tips for couples on how to prepare for the wedding photos?
I didn’t really do anything to prepare for our photos.. maybe just make sure you let your photographer know what you want to have captured (which Lucinda asks you all of this information beforehand anyway) And try not to overthink anything or be too controlling, trust that your photographer knows what they are doing and how to get the best shots because they are the professional.
How did you two love birds meet?
We met through mutual friends 10 years ago. My friend kept telling me I should talk to him so I added him on Facebook and we just started talking from there.
Who popped the question and how did it happen? Was it a surprise? Spill…
We went for a trip to Innes National Park on a long weekend. I was trying not to get my hopes up, even though I had a sneaking suspicion because Tony had planned the trip and he never plans anything. Turned out I had a good gut feeling because Tony proposed when we were walking along one of the beaches, it was so perfect other than the ring only fitting on my pinky finger!
How long was your engagement & how long did you have to plan your wedding and did you plan the wedding yourself?
Just over a year and a half I think. We didn’t start any wedding planning until about the 6 months mark so from there it was just over a year. Once we booked the key vendors that we definitely wanted to lock in though (Lucinda being one of them) there wasn’t really much to do until closer to the date. We planned it all ourselves with the help of family and friends.
Were you nervous walking down the aisle?
I honestly can hardly remember! It all just happens so quickly and all I remember is how happy I was. In the moment, I didn’t feel worried about anyone else because I knew everyone was there for Tony and I so I didn’t need to worry about what anyone would think.
What was your favourite moment(s) from your beautiful wedding day?
Just the entire day as a whole! I can’t pick one moment over any other. One really special moment though was hearing Tony’s vows for the first time knowing he had written them all by himself.
How would you describe your overall wedding day experience?
Absolutely the most memorable and best day of my life so far. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face all day.
What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
It’s so much easier to say this after the fact, but don’t sweat the small stuff, it just does not matter at the end of the day! Also, if you’re watching your budget, invest in the things that will mean the most to you and compromise on the things that don’t matter to you as much.
Where did you escape to for your honeymoon? Would you recommend it to other couples?
Haha… well we booked our honeymoon a few months after our wedding to go to Byron Bay. Then we had to cancel it because of COVID so we did a road trip in our rooftop tent through regional Victoria instead. It was so nice and I wouldn’t have changed a thing, other than making the trip longer!
