How has your experience been with Lucinda May Photography?
Our experience has been incredible! Lucinda is kind and extremely professional. She made us feel at ease throughout the whole wedding process; from the day we booked her, until the moment we received our gorgeous photos!
Why would you recommend Lucinda May Photography to friends?
From the day we met Lucinda, she had a kind and calming presence we knew would be perfect for our Wedding. Lucinda managed to capture the romantic, relaxed feel of our perfect day through her photos. We couldn’t be happier with them!
What beautiful products did you invest in from Lucinda May Photography and why?
So far, we only have our photos on our USB as well as a few prints; however we look forward to ordering our Wedding Album!
Can you give any tips for couples on how to prepare for the wedding photos?
Remember to smile and have a good time! It’s your Wedding day!! If you’re not used to being photographed (as most of us aren’t), just remember that simple fact and try to bask in all the joy and love that comes along with it. You’ll end up with beautiful, natural looking photos.
How did you two love birds meet?
Our meeting is a two part story! Officially we met at Schutzenfest 2014, went on our first date a week later, and the rest is history! However, I was Ryan’s cousins’ ballet teacher and became good family friends with his Aunty. She was trying to set us up for years, and was actually at Schutzenfest with me when we met – knowing that Ryan was also going on that day!
Who popped the question and how did it happen? Was it a surprise? Spill…
Ryan popped the question on August 12th 2017. We were out for an early birthday dinner for me at Serafino Wines in McLaren Vale. Before going in for dinner, Ryan asked me to come for a walk near the lake under the Festoon lighting. It was here that he got down on one knee and asked if I wanted to get engaged! It was definitely a surprise! Even if I had been showing Ryan rings for 6 months…
How long was your engagement & how long did you have to plan your wedding and did you plan the wedding yourself?
Our engagement was 18 months, almost to the date! I planned most of the Wedding myself, and booked all the ‘big things’ within the first few months! Ryan helped with a lot of the decision making throughout; however ensured I picked all the things that were important to me. He knew I’d been dreaming of this day since I was a little girl.
Were you nervous walking down the aisle?
Surprisingly no! I was nervous at our Wedding rehearsal, but on the day I was just so happy and calm. Seeing his face at the end of the aisle just made me so excited for what was about to come.
What was your favourite moment(s) from your beautiful wedding day?
One of them was definitely our little sunset photo session. It was the perfect opportunity to spend some time together and focus on what the day meant for us and our future.
I also loved our final dance together for the evening! Our  DJ organised for all our wedding guests to form a circle around us so we could dance one last time together before the night was over. My new husband decided to turn it into a dance battle which just sums up his silly and carefree personality!
How would you describe your overall wedding day experience?
It was just a day full of love! Love for my new husband, and surrounded by the love of our friends and family. We were so lucky to have so many people with us to celebrate.
What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
Try not to overthink every decision! There are a lot of vendors out there and it can get overwhelming. Your guests won’t remember what your menus looked like, or what font you used on your sign. They’ll remember if the food and music were good, and if they had a fun time! Try to relax and remember that as long as the big things are booked, the small things don’t matter as much. What matters is that you’re marrying the love of your life, and your family and friends are there to celebrate with you!
Where did you escape to for your honeymoon? Would you recommend it to other couples?
We went to the Maldives with an all inclusive package. It was incredible! We both decided we wanted a relaxing honeymoon after Wedding stress, and it was that and so much more. We were indulged with unlimited alcohol from 10am, food from 4 different restaurants, daily massages, water sports, and excursions. Highly recommend for anyone that wants the perfect romantic getaway.
