Yorke Peninsula Wedding Photography | Sari + Nick

I love a Yorke Peninsula wedding! Sari and Nick’s wedding was extra special as I got to visit some very personal spots on the Yorke Peninsula to them both.

How has your experience been with Lucinda May Photography?
We loved working with Lucinda , she made the whole experience easy and comfortable. We are so happy with our photos and she makes it hard to pick a favourite.

Why would you recommend Lucinda May Photography to friends?
We aren’t the biggest fan of having our picture taken, and Lucinda made us feel comfortable straight away . She is so lovely to have around on the day, you want to be surrounded by people that are going to help celebrate with you and make it a good day.

Can you give any tips for couples on how to prepare for the wedding photos?
Make a list of what photos you would like and where. We would also recommend timing how long it takes for you to travel between each photo spot. So you can run on time on the day.

How did you two love birds meet?
We got set up by our best friends when they started going out with eachother. But soon after being introduced, we realised we had met each other twice at different events before being properly introduced.

Who popped the question and how did it happen? Was it a surprise? Spill…
Nick and I were on a holiday away in Port Lincoln with our best friends. Nick Spontaneously asked to go on a beach lookout walk we had found just the two of us. We asked our friends to come but luckily for Nick they decided to stay back at camp. We got to the end of the walk and we’re just hugging and enjoying the lookout when Nick got down on one knee and pulled out a ring box. I realise now that his fast heart was beating so fast not from the short walk but from nerves, somehow it was a complete surprise after being together 8 years. Which made it so much more special being a suprise and knowing he had picked out the ring himself. We enjoyed the moment just the two of us, before running back to share the news with our friends.

How long was your engagement & how long did you have to plan your wedding and did you plan the wedding yourself?
We had a 7 month engagement, which we found to be great as it kept the excitement level up. We planned the wedding ourselves and had help from our friends and family .

Were you nervous walking down the aisle?
I was a little nervous walking down the aisle, but as soon as our celebrant/Uncle Rohan started talking and I was with Nick I was at ease.

What was your favourite moment(s) from your beautiful wedding day?
Our favourite moments was watching our grandmas walk down the aisle as they were our flower girls. And having my (Sari) grandad give us the rings. Saying our vows to eachother was pretty special. And seeing the look on our loved ones faces throughout the day and knowing they were all there for us and how lucky we are to have them in our lives .

How would you describe your overall wedding day experience?
We felt it went pretty smoothly, and the weather held out for us. We had wanted a very relaxed and casual wedding and we felt we had that.

What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
Focus on what you and your partner really want and don’t let anyone change your mind. Remember you can’t please everyone, so just try and have as much as you fun as you can and not take it too seriously.

Where did you escape to for your honeymoon? Would you recommend it to other couples?
We went to kangaroo island, and stayed at the sea dragon lodge. It was an amazing view and we had kangaroos and possums coming right up to our feet. We found KI to be really relaxed and just what we needed after our wedding. There was plenty to see and we will definitely go back.
